Oriole Advocates' Chartiable Foundation

The Oriole Advocates’ Charitable Foundation (OACF) was established as a 501 © (3) Corporation In 1987. The organization promotes the health and well-being of youth through the State of Maryland and across the globe through its support of organizations both domestic and abroad who promote baseball at all levels for individuals of all abilities.
Major projects funded by the OACF include the Oriole Advocates’ Cardboard to Leather (C2L) Program that was established in 1992. Since that time, the program has donated over 80 tons of baseball and softball equipment to over 40,000 athletes.
The OACF also funds the operation of the Oriole Advocates Challenger Baseball Program which provides children with mental and/or physical challenges the opportunity to enjoy the experience of playing baseball. For more than a decade, the program has served more than 60 teams and close to 1,000 players in Challenger leagues.

Impact

Since 2008, the OACF has been funding scholarships for Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) students participating in the school’s baseball program. Originally started at the Catonsville campus, the program was expanded to include students at the CCBC campuses in Dundalk and Essex. In 2019, the OACF renewed its Agreement with CCBC and made a five-year commitment to awarding scholarships to students at the Dundalk, Catonsville, and Essex campuses totaling $7,500 annually.
