Student Emergency Book Fund

The Student Emergency Book Fund is available to provide a rapid source of funding for CCBC students in good academic standing, who require immediate financial support to purchase textbooks due to unforeseen circumstances.The funds are administered through the Financial Aid Office and distributed through the CCBC campus Barnes & Noble Bookstores. Priority will be given to financial aid eligible students enrolled in 6 or more credits/billable hours.

Please note: This fund does not apply towards First Day Book Fees charged directly to the student account and does not reimburse students for purchased textbooks.

EMERGENCY BOOK FUND GUIDELINES
• A student may request a maximum of $500.00 for the purchase of textbooks up to the 3rd week of the fall or spring semester.
• Funds are to be used in Barnes & Noble CCBC Bookstores and may only be requested for current semester textbooks and required course materials. Applications must include a complete list and cost of all textbooks in the form of a voided receipt from the Barnes & Noble CCBC Bookstore.
• If past due debts are owed, they must be paid prior to requesting the Student Emergency Book Fund.
• Applications for the Student Emergency Book Fund will not be accepted after the 3rd week of the fall and spring semester.

STUDENT ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1. Applicants must be enrolled at CCBC during the same semester in which funds are being requested in a degree or certificate program.
2. Applicants must have completed the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the current academic year and eligible to receive financial aid. Aid suspended students are not eligible.
3. Applicants must complete the Student Emergency Book Fund application in full including the CCBC Barnes & Noble voided receipt. Students cannot be reimbursed for books already purchased.
4. After the completed application is received with the required voided bookstore receipt, it will be reviewed by the Director of Financial Aid or his/her designee within five business days. Applicants will be notified by CCBC email only once the application is approved or denied.
5. If approved, funds will be made available within 3 business days at the CCBC campus Barnes & Noble bookstore where the student is attending for that semester.
6. Students may apply for one Student Emergency Book Fund per academic year.

Completed applications will be reviewed by the CCBC Financial Aid Office in 3 to 5 business days.
