France-Merrick Completion to Degree Scholars

The France Merrick Scholar Program was created to increase persistence and graduation success among CCBC’s Baltimore City residents. Many students arrive underprepared academically. Many have family obligations, tend to enroll part time, and to work while in school. All of these factors create challenges for college success. With support from the France-Merrick Foundation, CCBC will pilot a three-year initiative designed to increase persistence and graduation for Baltimore City residents.

A cohort of 20 degree seeking students of promise will be selected for the France Merrick Completion to Degree Scholarship who agree to sign a France- Merrick Completion Promise to engage in full-time study (at least 12 credits or approximately 4 classes per semester) throughout their time at CCBC and until they earn their credentials. France Merrick Completion to Degree Scholarship students will be asked to commit to complete their degree within three years.
