Alec M. Altimus Memorial Scholarship

Alec Altimus was a graduate of Bowie High School and was attending Anne Arundel Community College. He was transferring to CCBC to pursue his dream of becoming an embalmer and enrolling in the Mortuary Science Program at CCBC until his untimely death in November 2014. In honor of Alec’s educational aspirations, his mother established the Alec M. Altimus Memorial Scholarship in his honor.

The scholarship recipient(s) must be accepted into the Mortuary Science Program and have completed the first semester of required program courses with a C or better. The recipient must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 credits with a cumulative CCBC GPA of 2.5 or greater. Applicant must submit a 300-400 statement detailing why he or she is interested in pursuing a Mortuary Science career and demonstrate financial need.
